That is seriously cool. I wonder how it does on a slope, particularly for braking, since I don’t know many folks with a driveway approaching anything even relatively close to level.

Sounds like a good base for my Battlebot

Huh, I expected it to be a lot more expensive. Hell, a robot for FIRST competition can not exceed $4,000 in value and it sure as hell won’t look as good or perform as well at that!

Considering the gearing required, I don’t think it would be too much of a problem.
However they do say the maximum grade it should handle is 5º, so...

I recall the video indicated it can do up to a 5 degree slope.

My grandfather had something that did the same job that was old by the time I was born in the 1980s. I couldn’t imagine it was this expensive.

That would have been amazing when I worked for a marina, and we stored a lot of trailered boats in a huge warehouse. I spent a lot of time backing trailers into spaces with near-zero clearance, totally blind, and by myself. We used a small electric forklift with a ball on one of the forks a lot of the time - it was a lot more maneuverable than a pickup truck - but still you can’t see behind the boat. So there was a fair bit of wrestling by hand, too.
Someone else in the building had a gas-powered thing that you could use to move trailers, basically like a lawn mower with a ball on top and wheels that were powered, but it was so loud and slow, and you had to lower the trailer down to it so far, I never ended up using it. This would have been amazing.

Thats kind of what I was expecting for something like this. If I had an airstream and a big garage like that, might be worth it though to be able to tuck it out of the way...

My grandpa had something like this with a hydraulically-lifted ball and an electric motor (forward/reverse). It could be powered from a wall or from my grandpa’s truck.
